About the project

Vasa Vind AB is exploring the possibility of applying for a permit to construct and operate a wind farm, Långsberget, located on Långsberget, Skräberget, Piltängsberget, Flintberget, and Helgåsbergen, on the border between the municipalities of Gagnef and Leksand, approximately 4 kilometers northeast of the town of Gagnef in Dalarna.

The project consists of up to ten wind turbines with a maximum total height of 260 meters and is estimated to produce approximately 225 GWh per year, which corresponds to the household electricity needs of 45,000 detached houses. (5,000 kWh corresponds to the annual household electricity consumption of one house.)

The area is one of the best wind locations in the region. This is an important condition for a site to be suitable for wind power, although it is far from the only one. A very important factor is, of course, that the wind farm must be able to coexist with those who live and work in the area. The aim of the project is to produce important renewable electricity with as little impact as possible.

Would you like to experience wind power up close and are curious about what it sounds and looks like? Just over an hour from Gagnef, you can visit the demonstration site Vindpark Dalarna.

Public Consultation Now Underway

The general public, nearby residents, and individuals who may be affected by the wind farm are hereby invited to participate in a consultation in accordance with Chapter 6, Section 29 of the Swedish Environmental Code. The purpose of the consultation is to inform about the project, answer questions, and gather feedback. Please see the Swedish version of this webpage to access documents and other information related to this project and how you can leave feedback. The consultation process ends on the 27th of September 2025.
