Our Munkflohögen wind farm is located south of the village of Munkflohögen, in the municipality of Östersund, and was commissioned in 2019. The plant consists of 23 Vestas V110-2.0 MW wind turbines.
The total installed capacity amounts to 50.6 MW. Vasa Vind has been involved in both the development and construction of the wind farm and is also responsible for its operation.
In 2020, construction of the adjacent Åskälen wind farm was also completed. The parks are linked by a connecting road that simplifies and shortens transportation within the parks. A joint site office for both wind farms, centrally located within the Åskälen wind farm, was completed during the construction of the Munkflohögen wind farm and is built by a local company using wood from the local area. The site office provides a very good working environment for site managers and wind power technicians.
A new 33 kV / 130 kV substation has been built in the eastern part of the wind farm, for connection to Jämtkraft’s 130 kV line between Ollebacken and Kattstrupeforsen.
