About the project
Construction of the Fröskog wind farm has now been underway for just over a year. Roads and the internal electricity grid are almost complete and the foundations have been poured. After the summer, the installation of wind turbines will begin and the wind farm is expected to be commissioned at the end of the year. Fröskog will consist of six Vestas wind turbines of the V162-6.0/6.2 model and the expected annual production amounts to about 100,000 MWh, equivalent to household electricity for about 20,000 households.
Fröskog becomes a hybrid park
In the spring, an investment decision was made to build a solar park in the area with a size of 19 MWp. The solar park will be connected to the electricity grid at the same point as the wind farm. Construction has begun and the facility is expected to be completed in the summer of 2026, after which Fröskog will be Vasa Vind’s first hybrid park.
Timeline
Building a wind farm usually takes around two years. In the first year, new roads are built and existing roads are widened. The internal electricity grid is being built and the foundations of the wind turbines are being cast. In the second year, the wind turbines arrive and are assembled using cranes.
